Sheumas MacNeil    

Sheumas, from Sydney Mines, is a piano maestro of The Barra MacNeils, one of the best known groups in the Celtic world. 

Like many of his siblings, he studied music at Mount Allison University. It was not surprising that he was playing as early as age 8, given family roots in Washabuck steeped in music and dance. He has performed most often at The Barn with his brother Kyle, an expert fiddler with the Barras.  Barn audiences have sometimes been fortunate to hear tunes from his wife Monica, a superb soprano saxophonist. The icing on the cake is even richer when any of their talented children join in on stage.
