Joël Chiasson

Joël Chiasson, from Cheticamp, is one of Cape Breton’s premier pianists.

Influenced by Cheticamp’s Hilda Chiasson, he has accompanied some of  Canada’s best fiddlers including the legendary Buddy MacMaster as well Natalie MacMaster and Ashley MacIsaac with whom he toured extensively. Also a gifted Cape Breton style step dancer, Joël has conducted dance workshops throughout Canada and the US. Joël teaches at the French school in Sydney where he has been a guiding force in mounting impressive concerts featuring the talents of countless numbers of his music students.
