Donald Gillis

Donald Gillis is an up and coming piano player from Mabou who played in KitchenFest in 2023.

His first paying gig was at The Barn in September of 2022 when he impressed the audience by playing piano solos and also for accompanyingbhis uncle, former Nova Scotia Premier Rodney MacDonald, a master fiddle and step-dancer. His father is a musician and he has deep musical through the Beatons on his mother’s side. He learned piano from Kolten MacDonell at the Gaelic College as well as privately from piano sensation Tracey MacNeil and Margaree’s own Lawrence Cameron.
